Processing and Actions by the Hellenic Police • All cases of detected minors are reported immediately to the Judicial authorities (according to national legislation) • Especially for unaccompanied minors, special attention is given in order to establish the identity/ethnicity of the minors, as well as their true family status • For every unaccompanied minors, the responsible Public Prosecutor will be assigned as temporary Guardian, until a permanent Guardian will be assigned in cooperation with NGOs and Social Services • For the needs of eastern Aegean islands, the management of minors is of the competence of the Reception and Identification Service – the local police authorities have received special orders and guidelines for the management of the minors till they will be removed to facilities provided by the National Center for Social Solidarity (E.K.K.A.) • Frontex has published the VEGA Handbook for Children at the Airports, supported by MSs. The Hellenic Police made this handbook available in Greek language • Trainings provided for fundamental rights and vulnerable groups, including the treatment and rights of minors Hellenic Police Borders Protection Division/HPHQs
