Short Course on Engineering Anthropometry WEAR World Engineering Anthropometry Resource Day 1 - Introduction • Course overview • Anthropometric data types • Measurement issues: principle and practical aspects • 3-D scanning and data processing • Use of online database system • Basic statistical methods Day 2 – Advanced Tools and Applications • 3-D data forms • 3-D data navigation and search • Statistical shape analysis • Make a fit-map • Applications case studies • Case selection for human apparel manikins Will include a CD Rom with software, sample data sets (1D an 3D), course notes, reference list and hands-on practice. Participants get temporary access to demo version of online WEAR. A 3-D scanner will be available during the course. Participants may bring their own laptop (must be PC) for practice. WEAR is an international collaborative effort with the goal to contribute actively to the diffusion and the advancement of knowledge of anthropometry, ergonomics and human factors engineering for health, safety and well-being for all people.
