  1. YAMAHA - Hong Hanh Co. Ltd Information • Established in 1989 • 2 main activities: - Motorbike Sale - Maintenance and Repair • Initial Situation: - 1 showroom, 1 service workshop - 4 workers, 3 salers • In 1998 official sign the contract and become an YAMAHA agency

  2. Vietnam market of Motorbbike from 2000 upto now • Higher living-standard lead to higher demand of motorbike using and repair • Motorbike firms in Vietnam: • Honda • Yamaha of Japan • Kawasaki • Suzuki • VMEP of Taiwan • Piaggio of Italy .... and many of those from Korea and China

  3. Some information in 2004 : From Oct to Dec in 2004: Hanoi: 600 new registered motorbikes/day Ho Chi Minh: > 400 new registered motorbikes/day Number of YAMAHA motorbike consumption: In 2003: 120,000 motorbikes In 2004:  200,000 motorbikes (From Dep. of Transportation Police and newspapers)

  4. Current activities of YAMAHA – Hong Hanh Co. Ltd • Main activities: • Sale, distribution of YAMAHA motorcycle at Hanoi and some provinces in the North of Vietnam • Maintenance, repair and warranty service of YAMAHA motorbike

  5. Current Situation • 2 showrooms • 2 workshops for maintenance and repair • 18 workers and 12 staffs including: - salers - cashiers and ...

  6. Activities in maintenance, repair and warranty service • Periodic maintenance for customer’s motorbike • Providing of warranty regulation and care • Repair and spare-part providing of YAMAHA motorbike • Consultancy of customers in using motorbike YAMAHA

  7. Issues of occupational safety i/ Labour safety equipment: • safety working clothing • canvas shoes • service workshop space, axial fan, light, first-aid, fire-extinguisher ... following standard of YAMAHA Vietnam

  8. ii/ Occupational hazards: • Slip because of spilled gas and petrol on the floor • Affected by exhaust fumes when testing engine

  9. iii/ Precautionary measures: • Providing safety shoes for workers • Providing comforter • Planning the separate area for engine testing • Dissemination of OSH knowledge to workers
