But if you are alone and don’t know where defibrillation device should be, don’t leave and keep applying CPR. That’s because during a cardiac arrest - every second counts! And every minute without a CPR reduces patient’s chances of survival by 10%. If there's a public access defibrillation device available nearby, the 911 operator will tell you. But don't interrupt chest compressions to get it, ask someone else. If not, 911 guys can arrange for an ambulance as soon as possible, which generally have AED defibrillator in them.
