Persistence: SAS • Developed collegewide course competencies • Developed Training Protocols • Set up Wiki-based Training for Aug. 27 • Provided online teaching resources (portfolio for teaching course competencies)
Persistence: African-American Male Intervention Team • Mapped barriers to Mentoring intervention design • Contacted AA male students at enrollment clinics, new student orientation, mailers • Summer 2010 designed intervention • Fall 2010 implementing AA Male Student Success Intervention
Persistence: Developmental Reading • Review ACT Key Train - online reading improvement software & Plato software • Select new intervention • Implement new intervention Spring 2011.
Persistence: Developmental Math • Examine staff/faculty/student barrier data for Basic Math and Beginning Algebra • Define target population: either basic math, beginning algebra, or both • Select or design an intervention to address barriers
Persistence: SAS • Pilot alternative delivery methods for SAS (blended & online) • Fine-tune assessment measures • Explore how best to expand the student base for SAS

Persistence: “One College” First-year Experience Interventions • Recommended Interventions: • Phase 1: Required “One College” Orientation to be developed by Orientation Intervention team (includes Directors of Student Activities and Student Development) with campus-specific information, all based on barriers • Phase 2: Advised Enrollment for all First-time Freshmen
Long-Range Focus on Student Success • Weave the 4-component, data-informed, intervention process into the fabric and procedures of TCC assessment, strategic planning, and the Councils • Collaborate with P-20 initiative, TA recruitment, and OSRHE to increase college readiness and decrease the need for developmental courses
Data Needs for AY 10-11 • Profile successful & unsuccessful students exiting SAS • SAS year-end student success report • Analyze Math faculty and staff focus group results • Student Reading I and II content interests • Analyze TA exit surveys for SAS feedback
