Presentation topics: • What is an Internet Voice Gateway and what are the benefits of VoIP? • New products • 3 new products launched at CEBIT 2000 • Pricing • Competitive pricing for FY2000 • New target application • Case study of Internet Telephony Service Provider • Global IVG success stories • OKI IVG success stories that span the globe • Reviews of OKI Internet Voice Gateway • reviews showing OKI IVG solution’s high quality of voice

  3. What is Internet Voice Gateway? • Creates the bridge between the PSTN and a IP Network • Voice is converted, compressed & grouped into data packets PSTN Tokyo Paris BS1200 Gateway BS1200 Gateway IP Network

  4. Why use a packet switched network? Circuit Switched Voice Network • Dedicated capacity of ‘channels’ for duration of • connection • Inefficient use of available capacity • A channel, such as a standard telephone line, has a capacity or bandwidth of 64Kb/s

  5. A Packet Switched Network • Available data transmission capacity now shared for • voice, fax and data • - all are now transmitted as data packets • More efficient utilization of capacity • - Can have just one network for data, fax & voice • - Minimize infrastructure and maintenance costs • - Offers free calls over existing data network

  6. Benefits of an OKI VoIP solution • The OKI VoIP solutions use ‘standalone’ gateways which means easy installation with no disruption to current phone or data network infrastructure • The OKI VoIP solutions offer a structured migration path towards a wholly IP infrastructure for voice and data using OKI’s IP PBX • OKI VoIP solutions offer large cost savings, with payback times typically less than 6 months • OKI VoIP solutions offer the best quality of voice using advanced ‘jitter buffer’ technology • OKI has experience of installing and supporting VoIP networks from the smallest, to those including over 250 sites and global organisations that span the globe!

  7. 42. Growth of the global VoIP Market? • Analysis at San Francisco brokerage Robertson Stephens projects worldwide Internet phone revenues rocketing at a rate of 110% a year over the next half a decade -- from $1.8 billion this year to $19 billion by 2004. "It's going to be a very strong market going into the end of 2000, as well as 2001," predicts Rick Juarez, Robertson Stephens senior analyst in e-commerce infrastructure services. • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) gateway sales will increase 280 percent during the next five years, reaching $3.8 billion in 2003, according to research by Cahners In-Stat Group.
