SLDS FY09 ARRA Grant (Round 4)Status Update • SAS selected and procured as the tool for data mining, reporting, and data quality (April 2012) • Installed and configured development environment (May 2012) • Working jointly with the RTTT SSO project team to leverage software procured for SSO also for the Statewide Unique ID Document Control #SLDS-00073 SLDS Program Team Update

RTTT, Assurance Area CStatus Update • The LSE was established in 2011 • LIIS Rule 6A-7.0712 was adopted by the State Board of Education in November 2011 • All of the 50 eligible small and rural school districts applied for the LIIS $5 million grant and awards were approved by FLDOE in 2011 • District surveys, analysis and reporting are ongoing Document Control #SLDS-00073 SLDS Program Team Update

SLDS Program High-Level Timeline (as of 6/1/2012) Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems • Accomplishments to Date: • Local Instruction Improvement System (LIIS) / Local Systems Exchange (LSE) – LSE live; All LIIS Surveys for 2011-12 completed and the LIIS Statewide Report was published on 3/31/12; the baseline-survey district analysis reports were sent out to the districts on 4/27/12; All of the 50 eligible districts applied for the LIIS $5 million grant and awards approved by FLDOE; Developed and approved SBE Rule on 11/15/11 to meet statutory changes. • Research Agenda – Research agenda published on 6/30/11. Received proposals on 10/1/11 and 2/1/12 based on the revised Research Agenda. • FLDOE Single Sign-On (SSO) – Completed business requirements, Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Designs; Completed Gartner Strategic Assessment of Project Approach, Designs, and Solution Selection; Completed Detailed Design Specifications; Began installation & configuration of the solution; Design Iteration 1 of www.fldoe.org/sso complete & in production • Source Systems Upgrade (SSU) – Developed Logical Data Model (DM), Conceptual Design, EDW 2.0 Application Security Model, EDW 2.0 Physical Design (Base Year Mapped Fields), and Logical Application Design; Conducted training for core team members; Began Iterative Development (thru Dec 2012); Completed the set up, installation & configuration of Development environment; Completed SAS DI Server training SSU: SSO: 2011-12 2012 SSO: Complete Design Iteration 2 of www.fldoe.org/sso; Begin testing with LEAs & Applications SSU: Complete Physical Design LIIS: Publish 2012-13 LIIS Survey for districts to complete by 9/30/12 May-May June July Aug Sep Oct Metadata Management Tool: Begin procurement SSO: Complete Application Migration schedule; Complete FLDOE Application Integration Specifications; Complete FLDOE Application Management Plan Template SSU: Complete Physical Design; Complete ETL specifications; Complete SAS Administration training SSO: Complete Solution Operations Guides SSU: Complete Data Quality design and development LIIS: Collect all 2012-13 LIIS Survey results from districts SSO: Complete LEA Federation Specification SSU: Complete setup, installation and configuration of Test environment SSO: Complete FLDOE Application Management Plan Template SSU: Complete Data Migration Plan; Install EDW 2.0 database (Base Year) The SLDS Program consists of 13 initiatives funded through one of three specific grants—SLDS FY09 Grant (Round 3), SLDS FY09 ARRA Grant (Round 4), and Race to the Top, Assurance Area C: Data Systems to Support Instruction.
