The Organisational Effectiveness Programme. Aims & Intent of the OEP. To develop the General Practitioner’s knowledge and skills so they can more effectively engage with the clinical and organisational changes required to create a world class heath service in Wales.

Aims & Intent of the OEP • To develop the General Practitioner’s knowledge and skills so they can more effectively engage with the clinical and organisational changes required to create a world class heath service in Wales. • Through the support provided by the OEP, all participants should have every opportunity to realise significant improvements to patient care within the NHS in Wales
Structure of the OEP • Open to all GP’s on a LHB Medical Performers List in Wales • Educational modules • Six, two day modules • Service development project • twelve days • Time (£350/day), travel and accommodation reimbursed
Educational Framework. The programme is based around three educational themes. • Personal Development/Self Awareness – a key aspect of the programme will encourage participants to reflect on how their personality & behaviours affect others and how others affect them. • Project Skills – the development of such generic skills is seen as fundamental to the success of each individual project and would be of benefit for any future project work. • Organisational Understanding – an appreciation of the context within which GPs operate and the various interfaces that influence change across the NHS in Wales.
