  4. Membership Categories and Requirements

Student Membership • Requirement • Have attained the age of 18 years; and, • Be a student in a degree, program or course in the environmental field; and, • Be proposed by a Founding Fellow, Fellow or a Professional Member who personally knows the candidate • Application • Membership forms (click HERE) • Verified student status proof (with expiry date) • Fee • Application Fee: HK$200 • No annual subscription fee

  6. Associate Membership • Requirement • Have intention to proceed to become a Professional Member; and • Have obtained a degree in the environmental field acceptable to the Executive Committee; or have been educated in a discipline related to the environmental field and have supplemented his/her academic qualifications with working and/or research experience in the environmental field for not less than five years; and • Be supported by a Founding Fellow, Fellow or Professional Member who personally knows the candidate • Application • Membership forms (click HERE ) • Verified academic qualifications and employment proof required • Fee • Application Fee: HKD300 • Annual Subscription Fee: HKD300

Professional Membership To qualify for Professional Membership, a Candidate must satisfy ALL of the following criteria: • Be a recognised member of an Institutional Partner • Meet the requirements for academic qualifications and working experience set by HKIQEP • Receive support from three Professional Members, Founding Fellows or Fellows who personally know the Candidate • Complete and pass the qualification process set by HKIQEP

Institutional Partner Membership HKIQEP Professional Members must be a current recognized member of an Institutional Partner (IP) of HKIQEP Note 1: Proof of valid IP membership is a prerequisite for Candidates applying for HKIQEP Professional Membership Note 2: Candidates are recommended to begin IP membership application as soon as possible, as the process may take several months

  9. Academic Qualifications and Work Experience All Candidates for Professional Membership must meet the following academic qualification and work experience requirements

Supporters Requirements • To apply for Professional Membership, Candidates must obtain endorsement from three (3) Supporters • Supporters may be: • HKIQEP Professional Members • HKIQEP Fellows • HKIQEP Founding Fellows • All three Supporters must sign the Candidate’s application form, as well as initial all pages of any supporting documents • A Membership Directory is available on the HKIQEP website listing all current HKIQEP members for easy reference

  11. Qualification Process • The qualification process consists of 3 steps that must be completed in order • A maximum of 5 years between steps 1 and 2 is permitted 2) Professional Membership Application July – October 2019 MHKIQEP

  12. Professional Assessment (Part I) Application period: 15 April ~ 30 June 2019 Assessment date: 17 August 2019 2) Professional Membership Application July – October 2019 MHKIQEP

  13. Professional Assessment (Part I) Notes: In case of inclement weather, assessment date will be rescheduled for August 18, 2019. Candidates who passed may defer their application for Professional Membership. Results are valid for five (5) years. Candidates who failed may retake the assessment. There is no limit to number of attempts.

  14. Professional Assessment (Part I) • 3 hours 100 questions (multiple choice) • Closed-book examination in English • To pass the Examination, candidates must achieve passing scores in each of the six areas as well as obtain an overall pass

  23. Professional Membership Application • After passing Professional Assessment (Part I), a Candidate may apply for Professional Membership • ALL eligibility requirements must be met, and must be supported by evidence on the application form Application period: 1 July ~ 31 October 2019

  27. Professional Assessment (Part II) Assessment dates: 18 January / 8 / 15 / 22 February 2020 • Eligible candidates will be invited to attend the assessment on one of these dates • Advise HKIQEP of known date conflicts as soon as possible to avoid last minute rescheduling

  28. Professional Assessment (Part II) • Candidates will be assessed in 5 attributes: • The score ranges from 0 to 3 • To pass, candidates may not score 0 in any attribute, and shall obtain an overall score of 10 or above • Evaluation rubric: HERE

Fees Schedule *All fees paid are non-refundable • Candidates are responsible for the payment of the above fees in a timely manner to facilitate the qualification process • When submitting evidence of payment, the Candidate’s name (and Candidate number if available) must be written on the receipt to avoid confusion
