Africa • The second largest continent. • Covers 1/5 of the total land surface of the earth. • Africa is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean, and the Red Sea.
North America • Third largest continent in the world. • It covers 9,355,000 square miles. • Alaska, United States, Mexico, Canada, and Greenland make up the continent.
South America • The fourth largest continent. • The Rainforest and the Andes mountains are located in South America. • South America has a tropical climate.
Antarctica • Antarctica is the world's fifth largest continent. • Not many people live on the continent because of the harsh environmental conditions. • Wildlife rangers, meteorologists, tradesmen and scientists work there for short periods of time conducting research.
