Concert Etiquette for the audience
REFRAIN FROM TALKING Thanks for the concert atmosphere. REFRAIN FROM UNWRAPPING NOISY WRAPPERS As a courtesy, please refrain from eating during concert. 1
SILENCE YOUR CELL PHONES & ELECTRONIC DEVICES Please use the mute or vibrate options. DO NOT TAKE FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY We don’t want your child to miss his/her cue or be distracted by the flashes. 2
USE VIDEO CAMERA MANNERS Please video from the back or side of the auditorium, as to not block others. APPLAUD AT APPROPRIATE TIMES The proper way to show your appreciation for a performance or solo is to applaud briefly after the selection is complete. 3
DO NOT LEAVE AFTER YOUR CHILD’S PORTION OF THE CONCERT IS OVER All of the students deserve a full audience for their performances. Plan to stay until the final bow. 4
DO NOT LEAVE DURING A MUSIC PERFORMANCE Wait for a break in the concert to visit the restroom, unless you are carrying a disruptive or crying child, in which case, please leave quietly. EXPECT THE BEST You just might be surprised how good your student sounds when the other students join in! Praise your student and applaud all their hard work! 5
