3. The session theme • Water multi-tasking : How to obtain more benefits per drop from multiple uses and functions

4. Context • Adjustment in the distribution of the resource is anticipated to become more significant . • The adjustment should be implemented under the perception of roles, functions and value of water in each of multiple uses.

6. Substance of session • Most of water systems are used ranging from domestic uses to productive uses at different scales fulfilling various social, cultural, environmental functions.

7. Substance of session • For example, the functions of irrigation water in paddy fields has a key factor in • recharging groundwater • mitigating floods • providing as domestic water supply and water for fish farming, navigation, hydropower Land conservation and flood mitigation
