Content Feedback 1. Rappers, Face Tattoo’s And The Real World (written) – Good content piece which showcases essential professional copy writing skills. Good headline. Credited photography. An interesting article that adds value to the portfolio. 2. Lucid Dreams (written) – You’ve selected an interview style that fits the website stylistically and brings a local music element to the site. Technically it works. Could have been more selective in your content e.g. could have cut out section of how they forget to rehearse for 6 weeks! Having said that it adds humour. 3. Fashion in Sheffield - Infographic Clearly rushed and lacking in development. It is not really a piece of content but an elaborate presentation of survey results. 4. Rappers And Their Influence On Fashion (written) - satisfactory application of feature writing skills e.g. paragraphing, structure, use of direct and indirect quotes, and use of captioned photographs. The topic is appropriate and you have applied research findings effectively. 5. How Instagram has changed fashion - feature and photography – good journalism skills evidenced here jay in terms of photography and use of research material. I feel you need to develop your sense of how to develop a discussion and incorporate interview material. Your quote from tom Jackson leaves me wanting him to explain what he has said. 6. Queer fashion – feature and photography – great photography skills. I feel that the feature could have better with a stronger start. The opening two paragraphs could have more impact. Your expression needs development also. For example, a paragraph like this “This has allowed the queer fashion community to sky rocket into love and integument, it is giving people the confidence to find individuality in theirselves and their outfit choices.”, includes grammatical errors and problems with expression. Some of your choices reflect a lack of understanding of journalistic conventions and engaging the reader e.g. the quote you have highlighted works more if the piece was a personal profile of Shaw Fowler. The quote about discrimination would have worked better. You have showcased some great visual and aesthetic flar as well as very good technical skills.
