DQC GOALS • Improve the quality, timeliness and understanding of the data used for educational reporting, decision-making and school/student improvement • Reduce data-related errors and inaccurate reporting that can lead to reductions in funding and/or errors in state and federal reporting • Increase understanding of critical issues such as FERPA, data relationships, and best practices • Reinforce that data management responsibilities are critical to an effective school environment and require a specific set of skills • Create an effective and enterprise-wide culture of data quality
DQC Tracks These tracks will give participants an overall understanding of how to build a culture of quality data, insure student privacy, navigate resources, and incorporate data resources. • PIMS Administrators Track • Entry Level PIMS Administrator Track • LEA Administrators Track • Data Entry Track
LEA and PIMS Coordinators track • Created especially for PIMS Administrators • Upload data into PIMS • Resolve errors • Coordinate with data entry staff • Report to school administration • Analyze reports • Gather requirements • Check for accuracy
Entry Level PIMS Administrator • Created especially for Entry Level PIMS Administrators • Foundational basis for understanding of PAsecureID, COGNOS, and eScholar • Upload data into PIMS • Resolve errors • Coordinate with data entry staff • Report to school administration • Analyze reports • Gather requirements
LEA and PDE Administrators track • Designed for principals, superintendents, or building administrators • Understand the sign off process and gauge accuracy of reports prior to sign off. • Provide skills needed to understand administrative responsibilities • Prioritize accuracy in data • Direct the PIMS administrator • Promote accountability and information sharing among staff • Understand the Longitudinal Data Systems (LDS) • Impact of accurate data on funding and accountability
LEA Data Entry track • Designed for those who manage the input of student data • Become trained in creating a data calendar • Construct audit checklists • Generate reports • Prevent errors • Revise errors • Correct errors
