Time to practice! • We will be doing stations a little different this time. • Today we only have 3 stations and you will be rotating around the different areas of the room • You will each receive a sheet of blank paper and you are to fold it into 3 equal parts. • Number each part Station 1, Station 2, and Station 3 and draw a line to separate each section
Time to practice! • Each station will have a learning activity and then something for you to complete (draw, write, model) • At each station you must complete the objective and make sure you have all of the information needed! (You can take notes if you wish) • You will have only 10 minutes at each station, work quickly! • Odd tables go to the front stations, even tables go to the back stations
Return to your seats, put everything away except for notebook, stations sheet and pen/pencil!(First 2 groups ready=2 points)
Lesson Essential Question What causes the seasons?
What causes the Seasons? • The direction of Earth’s axis always stays the same as we circle the Sun • When the Northern Hemisphere tilts toward the Sun the days are longer, so there is more time for the Earth to warm up • When the Northern Hemisphere tilts towards the Sun then the Sun appears higher in the sky viewed from the United States, so sunlight is more concentrated and intense.
