What is the Mid-autumn Festival? yuè bǐng 月饼 mooncake The Mid-Autumn Festival is also called The Moon Festival.
cháng é 嫦 娥 - goddess of the Moon Chang e lives on the moon, she has a pet.
Like Chinese New Year, it is a festival in the traditional Chinese calendar, also called the Farmers’ Calendar, and is based on the changes of the moon, not the movement of the sun.
zhōng qiū jié Mid-Autumn Festival 27 September 2015 This means it falls on a different day each year, but always the 15th day of the 8th lunar month.

Families get together to have dinner and admire the moon, often visiting famous scenic spots such as West Lake in Hángzhōu.
