  2. Study on using AIBOs to increase diversity in undergraduate CS programs • NSF funded study • Develop new course centered on AIBO • Increase interest to study CS and awareness of impact of robotic technology • Study conducted at U of M, Augsburg College, and Berea College (Kentucky)

  3. Your role in the study • Collect your opinions at various times during the semester via questionnaires • Keep track of IDs to correlate questionnaires • An external evaluator will process and keep the raw data. Records will be private. Each time we do a questionnaire it will be mailed directly to her • Participation is voluntary. You can withdraw at any time

  4. IRB Approval • Study approved by IRB (Institutional Review Board) • IRB reviews projects which require human studies to ensure they are not exposed to undue risk and they give uncoerced informed consent to participation

  10. Lab on Thursday • Where: in EE/CS 2-140 • You need your U card to get in. • We’ll continue using URBI, a scripting language that can be used either with a memory stick or with the wireless network.
