  2. Homework • Check the wiki for help sheets, homework clarification, upcoming assignments. • How much? • Generally, 1-2 hours a night • None? • Studying note cards • Quizlet • Organize binder • Planning ahead for long term assignments

  3. Advice for Effective HW • Quiet • Centrally located • Plenty of paper, pencils, etc. • Computer – not in bedroom • Google Calendar – Sync them together* *A cheat sheet is onwww.silverteam.wikispaces.com

  4. A Back-Up Plan • While we realize that computers break, printers run out of ink, we try to teach your children to come up with alternative solutions, including, but not limited to, • Save to flash • Email to friend (or teacher at last resort) • Print at lunch or HR • Utilize the UD library 

  5. A Year of Transition: Self-Advocacy • Students Checking HAC Grades Regularly • Issues with grades, curriculum, or other? • Have your child approach teacher • Students can email if necessary • Unresolved? Parent contact teacher • This approach often resolves the problem/question more quickly. • We even make mistakes sometimes! 

  6. Extra Help • Advisory help every day • Morning, lunch, afternoon appointments can be scheduled • Study Buddies
