Brief DFT Report (1/11/18) Gary Berg-Cross

This project aims to enhance communication by utilizing standardized and well-defined concepts. Accomplishments include the development of a large foundational vocabulary and visualizations. Challenges include lack of community input and validation, useful forms, and coordination with other vocabularies. Plans involve incorporating input from six new words and Larry's slides, integrating vocabularies from new GPS systems and mature MD concepts, expanding the core, and supporting RDA data analysis and group tagging. This project involves all group relations except Voc.Services, MD, DF. The mission is to help new members understand RDA and discuss roadmap features. A brief DFT report was submitted on 1/11/18 by Gary Berg-Cross.

  1. Purpose: Improved communication using the conceptual tool of more standardized, well defined, labeled concepts Accomplishments: large, defined, foundational vocabulary including a RDA “core” & some visualizations of same Issues: Lack of community input & validation, useful forms, enrichment, coordination with other vocabularies Adjustment: Include Input from 6 words & Larry's slides.... Plans: Include vocabularies from new gps, mature MD concepts, relate concepts to expand the core, support RDA data analysis and group tagging.... Group Relations: all, but Voc Services, MD, DF, ...
