Two types of Assessments are: Assessment FOR Learning and Assessment OF learning The Assessment OF Learning • Reason to check where the students are • To Inform others of how the student is learning • The focus standards and benchmarks which are the focal point of the instruction (summative assessments ) • Teacher’s role administer the learning and use the results to develop classroom tests and assign grades to show achievement. • Student’s goal meet the standard in order to avoid failure.
Two types of Assessments are: Assessment FOR Learning and Assessment OF learning The Assessment FOR Learning • Reason to improve learning • To Inform involve the students in the teacher’s instruction • The focus to ensure that students are achieving their learning targets(formative assessments ) • Teacher’s role to change standards into classroom targets and provide descriptive feedback to inform and involve students in their learning • Student’s goal see the target and use the results to set their own goals to improve achievement

Rubrics • Definition- to make explicit the criteria for learner work • Rubistar- At this website you can create your own rubrics. • Educational Origami- At this website there are rubrics that are already created, but it Is based on Bloom’s digital Taxonomy. • NETS- At this website the rubrics are made for each grade level.
Overview Checklists • Definition- Make explicit the criteria and process for learner work
KWHL Chart (Know, What, How, Learn) • Definition- to involve students in active thinking about their inquiry and learning process Know- What do we know? What- What do we want to know? How- How do we learn more? Learn- What did we learn?
Modeling • Definition- to show examples of strong and weak work. • Anonymous work • Work from beyond school (real world) • Your own work
Conclusion Assessing learning and Integrating Assessment will establish effective tools to develop cognitive learning. Assessment before the learning will set the foundation of the learning process to have successful student achievement.
