Instructional Leadership Director (ILD) Selection Process Phase 1 Performance Tasks Phase 3 Phase 2 Performance Tasks Performance Tasks Phase 4 Phase 5 HC Screening Final Interview ILD SELECTION PROCESS STEPS Calibration Exercise** Candidates will view a teacher video and score according to the Tulsa Model rubric, providing rationale and evidence of teacher practice PDP Review & Rewrite Candidate will review and re-write a teacher Personal Development Plan, identifying gaps, additional feedback and other areas for improvement. NOTE: In a one-on-one consultation, candidates will discuss the PDP and case study with the Leadership Development Director (see Phase 4). PowerPoint** Introducing the ILD Process to Principals Candidates will design a 12 slide PowerPoint present-ation to the Principals of their assigned schools that addresses 5 tasks: An explanation of the responsibilities and role of an ILD. How a building-specific data collection / profiling will occur. Communication platforms that will be used. A sequence of next steps for the upcoming 12 months. A plan for ILD collaboration, sharing, communicating with fellow ILDs. 10 minute (max.) ILD Presentations to the ILD team will follow. Case Study** Candidates will analyze a school case study and provide a one-page response including the key issues to be addressed, action plan and next steps. NOTE: In a one-on-one consultation, candidates will discuss the PDP and the case study action plan with the Leadership Development Director. Problem of Practice/Role Playing Candidates will be provided a problem of practice common to the ILD team including key school data and metrics. Candidates will role-play a conversation between an ILD and a principal in front of the ILD team. Verify qualifications and certifications. Using screening tool Resume screening and screening call Using resume screening tool Screening call Follow up questions based on screening tool Final Selection and Recommendation References are checked for the top 10% of ranked candidates (a minimum of 3 documented references). Finalists are interviewed using questions from ILD question bank. Final recommendations are presented to the Superintendent. SELECTION PROCESS ACTIVITIES **These activities will be completed by the Candidate in advance of the On-Site Interview Process. A qualifying score is required prior to advancing to each selection step.
