Biography • Diane sawyer was born on December 22,1945 in Glasgow, Kentucky. • Diane sawyer became a journalist for ABC news in February 1989. • She attended one semester at law school before she went to become a journalist. • Her and her husband have no kids together but he has 3 kids from his previous marriage. • She reported live from Ground Zero on the week of September 11 and interviewed over 60 widows who gave birth after the World Trade Center disaster. • She is an award winning investigative journalist.
CAREER • She served as a local news reporter and weather girl for WLKY – TV in Louisville, KY. • In 1970 White House press secretary Ron Ziegler hired her to serve in the administration of President Nixon. Sawyer stayed on through his resignation in 1974 and worked on the Nixon-Ford transition team in 1974-75. • Then three years later Sawyer was considered the source of leaked information. • And then in 1978 She joined Primetime Live to co-anchor. • And then in 1998 she co-anchored 20/20
Awards • One award that she has won is for investigate reports including an investigation of an organization called the most secret and seductive cult in the country. • She won the “ Americas Junior Miss” scholarship pageant her senior year.
