The Alternatives Analysis: • Evaluate transit routes and station locations, and select “Locally Preferred Alternative” (MPO / PSTA / TBARTA) Other requirements to proceed to the next phase: • Identify funding source (Transportation Funding Task Force) • Transit-related land use policies and zoning regulations (local governments/PPC/CPA)

Proposed Countywide Planning Work Program • Amend Countywide Rules • Task:Add transit-related designations for future use, in cooperation with local governments • Responsibility: PPC/CPA • Timing Relative to FTA Process: Concurrent with Alternatives Analysis • Timeline: 6 - 9 months, with action by January/February 2011
Proposed Countywide Planning Work Program • Amend Local Government Plans and Codes • Task:Add transit-related policies and zoning regulations • Responsibility: Local governments with PPC participation • Timing Relative to FTA Process: Concurrent with Alternatives Analysis • Timeline: 18 months, with local action by end of 2011
Proposed Countywide Planning Work Program • Amend Countywide Plan Map • Task:Place transit-related designations in locations determined by Alternatives Analysis • Responsibility: PPC/CPA • Timing Relative to FTA Process: Upon conclusion of Alternatives Analysis and identification of local transit funding • Timeline: 1 - 2 months, with action by end of 2011 or 2012
Proposed Countywide Planning Work Program • Prepare Local Station Area Plans • Task: Refine station area boundaries and apply transit-related zoning regulations • Responsibility: Local governments with PPC participation • Timing Relative to FTA Process: Concurrent with Preliminary Engineering • Timeline:2 - 3 years, with local action by end of 2014
Proposed Countywide Planning Work Program • Adjust Countywide Plan Map • Task:Recognize local station area plans through map adjustment process • Responsibility: PPC/CPA • Timing Relative to FTA Process: Upon FTA acceptance into Final Design • Timeline: 1 - 6 months, with action by end of 2014 to mid 2015
