Incumbent Design: Ambu Bag • Pros • Cheap • Easy to use after training • Versatile • Cons • Requires two hands to use • Constant attention • Requires training/skill
Possible Approaches • Modify current designs • Supplement current designs • Air compressor • Compressed oxygen tank
Interview: VUMC Paramedic • Favors Ambu Bag • Didn’t like anything else he tried • Personnel not an issue from his experience
The Next Step • Interview VUMC Flight Medic and Others • Obtain insight into mechanics of current technology • Develop plan for modification/design
