Point Three: Improvement at HEEM inspire.enable.accelerate.share
Inspire There is no shortage of great ideas in the NHS but we need to improve the way we test them, evaluate them and then share them. Education plays a central role in this and is our focus.
Enable Too many innovations stay in one team or organisation and are not made available for everyone to benefit. Developing partnerships across sectors, professions and organisations to enable sharing is a key part of what we do.
Accelerate We work in a coordinating role with staff, universities, local authorities and other partners to ensure that the benefits of research and innovation in education are rapidly translated through education into benefits for patients.
Share We are working towards making innovation everyone’s business. In order to achieve this we want to adopt a culture which welcomes change and creativity in the way we work. We want to work towards strengthening our relationships with our stakeholders and drive towards a culture of sharing good practice.
Building improvement and innovation capacity and capability in HEEM • Covers all areas of the LETB • Good progress with sharing of training, resources and learning across areas in Primary Care, Secondary Care • Example: Pilot for whole practice learning in GP surgery • Survey and training for internal LETB staff: Capuchin • Working with partner organisations such as EM Leadership Academy operation and emerging leaders training & AHSN • Capturing existing resources, updating them to context of new architecture, ensuring learning isn't lost • AHP Physio from Derby Hospitals won HEEM funded place at IHI Quality 2014, reflections coming soon • Starting to link into trust led transformation programmes through education, best practice, comms and OD
