  1. Characterization of Photovoltaic Devices Based on theSynthesis of Nanocrystal Films and Quantum Dots Metal ferrites of the type AFe2O4and AxB1-xFe2O4are of technological interest due to their unique electronic and magnetic properties. Spinel ferrites are typically synthesized by solid state reactions at high temperatures. Cyclic voltammetry, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, AAS, and optical spectroscopy experiments were conducted to characterize the molecules for use in photvoltaic devices. Discussed are sabbatical results of the hydrothermal and thermolysis synthesis of colloidal CaxZn1-xFe2O4nanocrystals and their structural and electronic characterization for application in dye-sensitized solar cells.
