Why introduce Subject-based Banding? • To provide more flexibility to pupils with strengths and abilities that vary across subjects • To encourage greater interaction among pupils with different strengths

Selection Criteria School’s Recommendation at the end of P4:
Movement After P5 School’s Decision at the end of P5: • * Switching from Foundation to Standard Subjects • Pass all Standard subjects and • Grade 1 in Foundation Subjects (85% and above) • * Switching from Standard Subjects to Foundation Subjects • Fail & very weak in the particular Standard Subject * School’s decision will be based on a case by case basis, to provide the pupil with the most suitable combination according to their ability.
