Why I Chose My Animal? I choose a giraffe because it is the tallest animal in the world and it has a intrestingelife.
Appearance A giraffe has many awesome characteristics that makes it special. The giraffe has pale skin. The giraffe's pale skin helps it blend in the savanna grass when it's hiding from its predator. A giraffe has a long neck because it needs to reach the leaves on the tall trees. Giraffes have different skin color so they can tell each other apart. This is how the giraffe can survive with its pale skin.
Habitat Do you ever wonder where a giraffe lives? Giraffes live in the open savanna. The giraffes live there because it has a lot of space and enough grass to eat. Most giraffes live in Africa and Asia. Giraffes also live in Eastern and Southern Africa. Those are all the places giraffes can survive with all the space they need.
Diet Giraffes eat leaves which they need their long necks for. A giraffe only eats very few things. Giraffes eat shoots from a tree which they also eat leaves from. Giraffes also eat shrubs which comes from big grasslands. Without the giraffes long necks it wouldn't be possible for them to eat their leaves.
Family There are a lot of giraffes in a family. A giraffe's family is really big. There are about 12 to 15 giraffes in the family. Mother giraffes are ready to have their first baby at the age of 5. Mother giraffes finally have their baby after having it in their tummy for 16 months. The mother giraffe takes care of her baby so it can grow big and strong.

Giraffes are very interesting to study because you can find out a lot of cool things.
About the Resercher My name is Natalia Canal. I live in Kenmore, WA. with my parents and my older brother. I am in second grade in Ms. Weinberg's class. My two favorite subjects are math and reading. I like to jump on my trampoline with my brother. I am anxious to go to the zoo to see the giraffes that are in my report.
