  2. The Giraffe • The giraffe is an African mammal. It is the tallest animal that lives on land. The average mass for an adult male giraffe is 1,200kg and the average mass for a female adult is 830kg. It is approximately 4.3 metresto 5.2 metrestall. The tallest male record is almost 6 metres. Healthy giraffes live about 25 years. giraffes eat leaves from tall trees.
