  3. How are genes passed down? In sexual reproduction, both parents pass the genes for traits to their offspring. • 50% male- sperm • 50% female- egg

  4. What is a gene? • A segment of DNA that contains information for specific traits GENETIC TRAIT- a characteristic passed on from a parent to offspring.
