Essential Question • Does being a man or a woman have an effect on your experience in sport?
Unit Question • How does being a male or a female influence participation of sport or physical activity?
Content Questions What causes males and females to behave in a certain manner as a result socialization? What social phenomenon determines who controls a social institution? How have men historically diminished the participation of women in sport? How do females behave as a way of deterring from the lesbian label?
Content Questions, cont. Who, males or females, receives greater coverage and in what ways? What roles are emphasized to portray a heterosexual appearance for women? What is the critical legislation that allowed for women’s participation in sport? What tests are used to determine compliance with Title IX?
