Geometry Origami - Cat What shape do we begin with?
Geometry Origami - Cat Fold along the diagonal (colored side out), then unfold. Repeat with the other diagonal. Do you see where the diagonals intersect?
Geometry Origami - Cat Turn the paper so the white side is facing up. Fold one of the vertices down to the intersection of the diagonals.
Geometry Origami - Cat Turn the paper over so the colored side is facing up. Find the vertex opposite of the one you just folded. Fold this vertex up about an inch.
Geometry Origami - Cat Turn the paper over so the white side is facing up. Do you see the trapezoid? Fold the trapezoid down along the existing fold line.
Geometry Origami - Cat You should now have a trapezoid. Make sure this trapezoid is turned so that the parallel sides are parallel to you and the short parallel side is closest to your body. There should still be a fold line going down the middle of the trapezoid.
Geometry Origami - Cat Pick up the top right vertex of the trapezoid. Fold it down, forming a right triangle. The hypoteneuse of the right triangle should line up with the fold line in the center of the trapezoid. Repeat with the other side.
Geometry Origami - Cat Now you have a square made up of 2 right triangles. Pick up the bottom vertex of the triangle on the right, and fold it up so that it makes a cat ear. Repeat on the other side.
Geometry Origami - Cat Find the vertex that it sticking up directly between the two cat ears. Fold this vertex down to meet up with the vertex directly across from it.
Geometry Origami - Cat Turn the figure over. There is a right triangle at the bottom of the figure. Fold the right angle down about halfway to make the cat’s nose.
