  2. Using the Smartboard * Writing - Draw and move, make bigger, clone, group and ungroup * Screen shade – hiding items * Magic pen – spotlight, zoom * Shape recognition pen – makes perfect shapes *Transparent screen – write, use screen capture *Dual Screen and page pinning

Using the side icons * Gallery Essentials – education resources by separated by subject and subgroups * Gallery Sampler – find pictures * My Content – save and insert personal items to your “My Content” folder. Right click on what you want to save and click Add to My Content * Using the search bar to find a specific thing (i.e. timers, paper backgrounds) *Smart Exchange – find already made lessons that you can download and save on notebook!! * Lesson Activity Tool Kit – Has games that you can play on smartboard all you do is pick a game, click “edit” and type in your own questions

  5. Smartboard Tricks!! • When some pens/erasers don’t work – touch pen tool with a working pen and change it’s color. This also allows you to work faster without switching b/w pen tools. • Calibrating shortcut - touch the two buttons in front • Changing pen colors – from welcome screen go to control panel, smart hardware settings, pens, click on the pen you want to change, click fill effects, and choose your color, then apply • Quick erase – make a circle around writing area and touch center

Technology around the Classroom • Using usb and web cam Use web cam under Windows Movie Maker and show students how to record themselves and save on usb Ideas: Record themselves reading - Keep a digital file of their reading through out the year - Save the recording and burn on a disk, emailparents Record themselves giving a response about a book that they read with some written teacher questions about the story. Playback on Friday on review and assess day. Talk about it. • Tall standing speaker w/ microphone • Students can sit in a circle next to the speaker and read along with a microphone • Have students use OKCPS digital school library.
