  6. However some adjectives are different. If you wanted to say that something was very very very good, you could say excellent. Can you work out these other non-gradable equivalents of good?   7. With these Non-gradable adjectives you can’t use the same adverbs. You can still use so and really, but none of the others. Sometimes we’ll use: completely, totally or absolutely for extra emphasis. e.g.. Nick’s lessons are so wonderful. Chinese food is absolutely delicious. This is because these words cannot be graded, they are or they aren’t. i.e.. You can’t be not very excellent or quite great. You are great or you are not great.
