Prepare for Assessment Tasks • Schools should have completed all "Prepare for Assessment" tasks in MyNAEP. • If a school needed a reminder to complete the tasks, they received an email from me this week (STCs were copied on the email).
There is a NAEP field team assigned to each school. • An Assessment Coordinator (AC) is the leader of the team. • Assessment Administrators (AAs) are additional team members. • They administer the assessment, with support from the local School Coordinator (SC).
Preassessment Review Call (PRC) • The AC communicates directly with the School Coordinator (SC). • • The AC conducted Preassessment Review Calls with SCs in early January. • Follow-Up calls were also scheduled this week, if necessary. • They finalized all details for assessment day.
NAEP Testing Window • NAEP testing begins on January 28 and closes on March 7. • • STCs in NAEP districts should observe a session. • Each school has a different start-time, so you will need to check with the school for logistical details.
Monitoring • Monitoring will be conducted during the NAEP assessment. • Monitoring will be conducted throughout the state.
What should STCs be doing right now? • Provide encouragement to School Coordinators • Troubleshoot basic questions, if necessary • Contact me if you have any questions on behalf of your schools cwhite@alsde.edu
