Overview of TRWIB • Jointly appointed by the Mayor of Pittsburgh and the Chief Executive of Allegheny County • Created in 1999 to: • Provide strategic direction to Federal employment & training programs • Achieve a demand driven system • increasing accountability for outcomes, • directing the training efforts toward employer need
MISSION - Vision As an employer lead board, TRWIB’s mission is to advance and support an integrated and accountable workforce development system in the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. ≈≈ We envision a region where the quality of the labor force is a vital factor in developing the economy in SWPA.
