Control Algorithm: • Turns out our roll determination via B-dot is faulty: computational error • Looking at other derivative methods in Matlab
Design Updates: • Mechanical • Ordered plastic today • Finishing Solidworks tonight • Have woodshop access but not mini-shop, need to ask Steve to email facilities • Hardware • Need different PIC, getting free sample • Downloading Simulink compiler • Getting familiar with P-spice
Control Algorithm: • Theory for B-dot failure: Coil torques are creating instantaneous changes in d2B/dt2 which cause large changes in the PID • Solution: Alternate between magnetometer reading and attitude control
Design Updates: • Mechanical • Finished Solidworks! Waiting on plastic now • Plan to do a Harvey’s run • Hardware • Have the correct PIC • Working on testing sample code
Control Algorithm: • Got STK working, gives position as function of time
Design Updates: • Mechanical • Started machining today • Harvey’s does carry music wire • Hardware • More PIC • Website today too
