  2. Habitat • Grizzles live only in western North America and Alaska . • Yellowstone National Park is one of five recovery areas.

  3. Babies • Baby grizzly bears are called cubs. • Mother grizzlies are called sows. • They usually have one to three cubs in a litter.

  4. Appearance • Grizzly bears are solidly built with sturdy bones and heavy muscles.

  5. special • By the time spring comes the cubs have teeth and have a thick coat of fur and can follow their mother outside.

  6. Food • Their favourite plant foods include pine nuts, berries, mushrooms and roots.

  7. Predators • Grizzly bears are large predators. • Grizzly cubs are sometimes eaten by other predators.
