  4. Students Responsibilities • Review Handbook with your parents

  5. Attendance • School Hours 8:00-3:00 • Stay home only if you are sick • If you are absent too many days • you may have to repeat the grade • go to summer school

  6. Breakfast • Eat at home unless you ride the bus . • You must be here by 7:45 AM in order to eat at school. • If your bus is late the cafeteria will serve breakfast.

  7. Tardies • You are tardy after 8:01 • Not eligible for perfect attendance • After 5 tardies you will be assigned after school detention • YOU WILL NEVER BE TARDY IF YOU TAKE THE BUS

  8. Absences • If you are absent you need to make up missed work. • Ask your teacher how you do this.

  9. Academics • Work hard in your classes. • Ask the teacher for help as soon as you need it. • Do your homework.

  10. Remember • I will strive to excel academically.

  11. Security • All adults need to sign in at the office. • If you see an adult without a name badge on tell a teacher right away.

  12. Food • You may not bring candy or soda to school. • You cannot share food that you bring from home with friends.

  13. Bus Rules • The bus driver’s job is to get you home safely. • Board the bus quickly and sit down immediately • Talk in quiet voices

  14. Consequences for Bus Referrals • You may not take the bus for a period of time • Phone Calls to parents • SAFETY IS OUR MAIN CONCERN

We dress for success in standardized dress Shirts Must be. . • Solid Red, White, or Blue • With a collar • Long or Short Sleeves Pants Must be . . . • Khaki, navy blue, or blue jeans • Fitted at the waist (No Baggy Clothes) Jumpers, Skirts/Skorts or Shorts Must be . . . • Khaki, navy blue, or blue jeans (denim) • Length approaching the knee • must have a hem (no cut offs) Sweater/Jackets worn INSIDE must be . . . • Solid Red, White, or Blue

  16. Nurse • Parents must bring all medicine to be taken at school to the nurse.

  17. Discipline • Every level has a plan. • Your teacher is the boss of you here at school. • Page 5 of the handbook talks about responsibilities.

  18. Teasing • Anything that makes someone feel uncomfortable or hurts their feelings • Consequence; • level consequence, • detention, • EC, • Suspension from school,

  19. Bringing Toys Cards, Jewelry • Teacher will take them up and keep them for the year unless your parent comes up to get them. • No trading or giving toys away. • If the teacher sees it or hears it they will take it up.

  20. Weapons • Includes • Real or toy guns • Real or toy knives • Bullets • Fireworks • Matches • lighters

  21. Consequences • Suspension for up to three days • Assignment at another school • EC for more than 10 days • EC for the remainder of the semester • REMEMBER IF YOU ARE SERVING A CONSEQUENCE IN EC YOU MISS ALL THE EVENTS OF THE DAY

  22. Cell Phones • Cell phones may not be visible or turned on during the school day. • Confiscated cell phones are turned over to SISD police.

  23. Destroying School Property • Includes • writing on furniture, carpets or walls • Intentionally breaking school property Consequences • Suspension • Repay damage • EC

  24. Fourth And Fifth Grade • Fire Alarms • Age 10 and Older • Sexual and Disability Harassment • Graffiti

  25. Fire Alarms This is a very serious offense. • Student is removed to Alternative Education program at another school • Over 10 Years old • You can be expelled from school • YOU COULD BE ARRESTED

  26. Sexual &Disability Harassment • If you say or do anything that makes another person uncomfortable it is NOT allowed.
