What is reported for SPP 6? • Percent of children aged 3 though 5 with IEPs attending a: • Regular early childhood program and receiving the majority of special education and related services in the regular early childhood program; and • Separate special education class, separate school or residential facility
Percent Measurement: 6A. Percent = [(# of children aged 3 through 5 with IEPs attending a regular early childhood program and receiving the majority of special education and related services in the regular early childhood program) divided by the (total # of children aged 3 through 5 with IEPs)] times 100. 6B. Percent = [(# of children aged 3 through 5 with IEPs attending a separate special education class, separate school or residential facility) divided by the (total # of children aged 3 through 5 with IEPs)] times 100. attending a regular early childhood program services in the regular early childhood attending a separate special education class
Be sure to ask the family where the child is when she isn’t at school • Child Care, private or public • Preschool, private or public • Kindergarten, private or public • Other program with 50% non-disabled peers Any other program the child attends with 50% non-disabled peers counts for school LRE
Drop-In Speech • According to TEA: • Students only attending school for speechservices (i.e. 30 – 60 minutes a week) • Should be coded an 8 • Even if those services are provided in the regular education setting.
