Feature #1: Automate Network Mapping Drag and drop
Feature #2: Use SmartMap to document lab challenges and answers Document lab challenges and answers in a SmartMap and the map can be saved to the Map Center. Maps can then be easily referenced and used as study tools. Step 1: Document challenges and answers on a SmartMap. Step 2: Save the map to a local folder, for example, the Lab Maps folder. Step 3: Click the Add Folder link in the Map Centerpane to add the DataFolder into the Map Center. Step 4: Double-click the folder to view all maps in this folder.
Feature #3: Use SmartMap to check student work step-by-step automatically Document student work as knowledge points that you can review at any time. Step 1: Click on the green button, the Note area will be extended. Step 2:Document any knowledge points that you think will be helpful in the future into the text field. Step 3: Click on the Save button to save the knowledge points.
Feature #4: Document learning process & show-command automation Execute show commands within a SmartMap and document the path of the show command result as knowledge points for the map. This enables you to use and review the cached show command results at any time. • Step 1: Right-click a device (for example, R1) from the SmartMap and choose Show Commands>Execute Show Commands from the corresponding menu, the Execute Show Commands window opens. • Step 2: Define show commands in the Show Commands Properties window. • Define a DataFolder to save the show command results, for example, BGP basis show. • Click the Add button to add a show command, for example, Show IP BGP Summary. • Click on the Start button to run the show commands. • Step 3: Document the show command results. • Click on the green button, the Notearea will be extended. • Define the show command results path in the following format: • \\str1\str2\str3. The first string stands for the name of the DataFolder, the second string stands for the name of device and the third string stands for the show command. • For example, <\\BGP basis show\R1\showcommand> • Step 4: Click the show commands result path link, the Show Command Results Browserwindow opens in which you can view the show command results.
Feature #5: One-click access to the rack network from a SmartMap UP UNSTABLE DOWN
Feature #6: Free-hand data-driven diagramming Click the “+” Drag and drop Scroll the middle wheel of your mouse to zoom in or out of the map
Feature #10: Discover & document the rack network (L2/L3) Drag and drop
