Distance Mentoring –Rewards and Challenges of Mentoring • Distance mentoring has all of the same rewards and challenges as “conventional” mentoring • Potential for greater reward? • Greater need/impact = greater reward? • Additional challenge of limited in-person interactions, requirement for alternative communication (e.g., e-mail, phone, Skype), and potential for cultural differences (especially international mentees)
