Introduction – Network Solution Architecture Multiple Point-to-Point Airmux-400 High Capacity Backhaul Cellular Wi-Fi Airmux-200 Medium Capacity Backhaul Corporate Connectivity
Introduction – Market Overview • Target Customers: • Carriers, alternative carriers and service providers • Cellular operators • Utility and Transportation • Private networks: Military, Government, Banking, Education • Market Status: • Carriers and Service providers turn to sub-6GHz to complement existing backhaul and access portfolio • Need to meet huge growth in demand for broadband • Sub-6GHz is the right model to reach out to rural subscribers
Airmux-400 Highlights • TDM and Ethernet services in single box • Multiband support – single box for multiple frequencies • Point-to-point and multipoint-to-point topologies: • HSS – Hub Site Synchronization • Robust and reliable - MHS (Monitored Hot Standby) 1+1 • Spectrum View Analyzer - Easy and fast installation • N-LOS (Non Line of Sight) deployments • RADviewSNMP network fault management
Remote Site Remote Site Airmux-400 Airmux-400 Central Site Remote Site Airmux-200 Remote Site Remote Site Airmux-400 Airmux-200 Airmux-400 /200 Access Units Hub Site Synchronization (HSS) • Ensures simultaneous data transmission for all collocated sites • A mix of channel BW, frequencies and services is allowed • Supports up to 16 collocated units • Supports mixed versions of Airmux devices at the remote sites
Monitored Hot Standby (MHS) 1+1 • Providing Redundancy and Backup to TDM services Protection from: • Equipment failure (ODU and IDU) • Loss of air interface • Automatic switch over in less than 50ms • Using a primary link and a secondary link: • Two Airmux-400 links • An Airmux-400 link and an Airmux-200 link with new IDU-E • Two Airmux-200 links with IDU-E (single dual-pole antenna can be used)
Spectrum View • Part of the Airmux manager application • An RF survey tool • Support link installation before service activation • Activated by the installer • Helps selecting the best channel during installation • Supports quick and easy installation • Indication of: • Channels free from radars • Channels with radars detected • Barred channels (for DFS bands) • Scanned and un-scanned channels • Channels selected for ACS • Notation of the current operational channel
New Products in version 2.4 Airmux-400/50M • Total Throughput of 50Mbps Full Duplex comprises of: up to 16xE1’s/T1’s and ETH • Maintains Airmux-400 radio performance • Traffic is always symmetric Airmux-400/100M Optimized for IP Backhaul application • Asymmetric Ethernet throughput up to 100 Mbps aggregate • User settings determine the uplink / downlink capacity (from 50% / 50% up to 95% / 5%) • Actual Capacity allocation between uplink and downlink traffic is dynamic and determined automatically according to: • Actual Ethernet traffic load on each direction • Air interface conditions • In case of congestion, the system uses the user settings
New Products in version 2.4 Airmux-400/10M Optimized for TDM backhaul • User Throughput comprises of: up to 16xE1’s/T1’s + 10 Mbps • Maintains Airmux-400 radio performance • Traffic is always symmetric • Best price for TDM applications
Typical Applications - Wimax Backhaul • Backhaul • Growing demand for higher capacity • Rural expansion and urban leased line replacement will continue to increase • Access • TDM Access segment turning smaller • Strong competition from Point to Multi Point and WiFi systems • Private networks • Video surveillance market is expected to grow from $4.5B in 2007 to $41B by 2013 • Growth is stable through the financial crisis (*Based on ABI market research) • ETH Services over TDM backbone • Central management for the entire network POP IP DSLAM RICi- n x E1/T1 xDSL POP Wimax POP WiMAX BTS RICi- n x E1/T1 Egate-100 SDH/ SONET GbE PSN n x E1/T1 RICi Ethernet Microwave Link ETH Airmux POP Wimax WiMAX BTS ETH Airmux
