Subscribers ultimately belong to several Data Bases and numerous Publication lists. Therefore a request to unsubscribe requires the customer’s removal from Publication lists by Customer Service personnel and from Data Base lists by Data management personnel. The technical requirements of the selected email software are complex and require or include security concerns, privacy issues, and programing limits. A customer must provide their specific email address(s) and must stipulate their desired preferences for unsubscribing. They can communicate by telephone, email or chat with customer service personnel or they can unsubscribe on their own via the preference center web page. Deletion from various publication lists or all publication lists does not delete the customer from various data base lists therefore it is imperative coordination occur between the data base specialist and customer service personnel. That coordination can occur via email, telephone, or internet but current email software programing restrictions make it imperative such coordination occurs.
