Founded in 1937 The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) is the national organisation of the hotel and guesthouse industry in Ireland. The primary functions of the Federation are to promote and defend the interests of its members. The IHF represents almost 1,000 hotels and guesthouses nationwide, employing over 57,000 people and is a key stakeholder in the Irish tourism sector. A network of 12 branches nationally including Cork. Cork County Mayor’s Conference 24th-25th May 2013, Youghal.
The Cork Branch of the IHF Represents 72 hotels and guesthouses in Cork county and city ~ Almost 3000 guestrooms, employing 4000 people. Act’s as an intermediary/communication channel for local members and head office. Build close relationships with key tourism Stakeholders. Represents local issues at national level. The Gathering 2013. Be our Guest Guide 2013. Renowned as Ireland’s largest and most definitive accommodation listing. The 2013 Guide is currently being distributed across 23 countries It is a key marketing vehicle in promoting Irish hotels and guesthouses both at home and abroad. Domestic distribution includes all tourist information offices, Guinness Storehouse, airports, car hire companies, travel trade, etc. as well as all of the premises featured in the guide. The Gathering 2013 The Gathering Pins This year, the welcome that Ireland extends to visitors is nowhere more prevalent than in our hotels and guesthouses. The Gathering pins available to Members to use as a gift or gesture, particularly for international visitors . It will spread the message of Ireland. The Gathering 2013 Cork Rebel Week 14th - 20th October. Hotels and Guesthouses (IHF Members) will offer a 10% discount on accommodation sold for rebel week (through the booking engine) and on production of The Rebel Week Passport. A special Rebel Week booking engine has been created, this is available through www.irelandhotels.com and www.corkrebelweek2013.com Rebel week collateral is available for all members and has been provided in Hard copy. Hotels and Guests houses it is hoped will also be provided with electronic collateral to use in their own property promotion material, Websites, ezines etc…. The Gathering 2013 Cork Rebel Week 14th - 20th October. The Cork Branch of Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) Cork Airport and a Tourism Stakeholder, commence a promotional campaign in Amsterdam to promote Rebel Week. (work in progress) The Global Cork Economic Forum, IHF invitation to high profile individual to take part. Members have supplied names of persons for the Invitation list.
