  5. Jesus’ View on Worry • How important is worry to God? • Jesus equates worry to lack of faith • 6:30 And if God cares for the wildflowers….He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith • 8:25-26 Disciples went and woke him up shouting “Lord save us! We’re going to drown!” Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!”

Why Worry!Matthew 6:25-34 • Jesus gave 6 reasons not to worry about life • v25 God created life in you, He can be trusted to care for the details of your life • v26 Worrying about future hampers your efforts for today • v27 Worrying about life will not help • v28-30 God cares more about us then the flowers • v31-32 Worrying show lack of trust in and knowledge of God • v33-34 Worrying distract us from more immediate and important things in life

  8. A Matter of PrioritiesMatthew 6:25-34 • You cannot serve both God and money. Therefore (That is why) I tell you do not worry about your life, ……....... But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. • Jesus is contrasting between • Worrying about life • Seeking His Kingdom and His righteousness • What is your priorities in Life? • Our choice : Life (our way) or His Kingdom/Righteousness

Career, family, friends, health, appearance, social status, bank account……? • What are your worries and do they push God aside? • What do your worries reveal about your motive, focus and priorities in life? • Do you trust God to provide for you and to control your future? • What do you truly love? Who is your 1st love?
