The Ghetto • Warsaw Ghetto was one of the largest extermination camps ever established by the Nazis. • The streets of Warsaw were filled with the bodies of Jewish and polish civilians after the bombing. • A German air Division (stukas) bombed Warsaw day and night until it was in ruin. • Germans raided and robed all shops in Warsaw. • The Warsaw Ghetto was
The Jewish police • They were used by the Germans primarily for securing the deportation of other Jews to the concentration camps. • The Jewish police force of 2000 men were lined up by the Germans, given a speech of gratitude, and then shot in the back by mounted machine guns.
The Aftermath • Any Jew over 12 was forced to where a yellow star of David. • The Jews that looked fit for work were sent to labor camps, all others were executed. • Disease and starvation swept across Warsaw and caused the deaths of thousands of Jews. • By the time all the Jews were captured in the camp, they let the Jews walk the streets but were shot if tried to leave. • Approximately over 1000 deaths.
