The Germans attacked Warsaw and occupied it on September 28, 1939 • The Nazi Military or also known as the SS trapped all Jews in small communities called ghettos . • One of the famous ghettos was the Warsaw ghetto • This ghetto later on inspired many other ghettos to fight and rise against their leaders and their occupiers.
On November 23, 1939, German troops forced Jews to wear a white armband with the star of David. • Between 1940 and 1942, 83,000 Jews died of starvation and diseases.
