  3. The standard options when struggling • Go to a part-time pastor (rarely comes back) • Establish a two point charge (with another struggling congregation) • Merge (with another struggling congregation) • Close • Ignore the situation and hope it gets better

  4. Creative options to consider • Co-operative Parish • Urban mission • Rural service • Teaching parish • Pre-merge trial run • Retired pastor • Cross-racial • New church start • This is not just another name for a 2 point charge

  5. More creative options • Transformational merger • Become a satellite of a stronger congregation • Go multi-site • Begin small creative outreach groups (ex. Brew and Bible) • Use the video from another church for part of an existing or new worship service
