Hand-Made Encaustic Tiles Maw & Co. Encaustic Tiles are made using the same hand process employed during the Victorian era, resulting in the classic, multicoloured, hard-wearing clay tile. Geometric and Encaustic Combinations By cutting unglazed vitrified floor tiles into a variety of different geometric shapes and tessellating them with hand made encaustic tiles, intricate "marquetry" effects can be achieved.
